Cold mint, warm oil, and sugar that rinses clean instead of coating your tub.
Wild Mint Sugar Body Scrub is part of Common Ritual — the line built for how something feels, not just what it does. Sugar suspended in light plant oils, with peppermint, eucalyptus, and lavender doing the aromatic work. The formula includes an emulsifier, which means it lifts away with water rather than leaving the greasy film most oil scrubs are known for.
Formulated by Rachel, Licensed Advanced Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv) and Certified Skincare Coach — sensorial care, botanically scented.
⚠️ Not for use on children. Contains peppermint and eucalyptus oils. See safety information below.
Key Actives
- Sucrose (Sugar) — the exfoliant. Rounded granules rather than jagged ones, and they dissolve as you work, so the scrubbing eases off instead of continuing at full force until you stop.
- Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride and C13-15 Alkane — the oil phase, both light and dry-finishing. They condition skin during use without leaving you needing a second shower.
- Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil — the cold. Real peppermint essential oil, which is why the sensation is unmistakable rather than a suggestion of mint.
- Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil — sharp, green, and clearing. It is what makes this smell like a steam room rather than a candle.
- Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil — the softener underneath, rounding off the mint and eucalyptus so the blend lands calming rather than medicinal.
- Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract — a long-established skin soother, included to keep the exfoliation comfortable.
Scent Notes
Top: Peppermint — cold, bright, immediate.
Heart: Eucalyptus — green and clearing.
Base: Lavender, softening the edges.
It fills a shower while you use it and fades to a clean trace on skin afterward.
Who It's For
Anyone who wants a shower that wakes them up. Good on legs, arms, shoulders, and back, and particularly good before shaving. The cooling is genuine, so it earns its place in summer and after exercise.
Adults only. See the safety information below regarding children.
What to Expect
A cold rush on contact that builds over the first minute, then settles. Skin feels smooth and looks brighter straight away, and because the formula emulsifies, you step out without a slick of oil on you or left behind in the tub.
How to Use
- Give the jar a stir if the oils have settled on top.
- In the shower, turn the water off or step out of the stream.
- Scoop a small amount and massage over damp skin in circles.
- Work over legs, arms, and anywhere that wants smoothing. Avoid the face and intimate areas.
- Rinse thoroughly. The emulsifier lifts the oils away with the water.
Use once or twice a week. Rinse the tub afterward — see the note on slipping below.

Sucrose, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, C13-15 Alkane, Polysorbate 80, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Tocopherol, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract
Safety & Warnings ▾
⚠️ DO NOT USE ON CHILDREN. This product contains peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils. The menthol in peppermint and the 1,8-cineole in eucalyptus can cause serious breathing difficulty in infants and young children, including slowed or stopped breathing. Keep this jar out of a shared bath and away from where a child might reach it.
⚠️ Slippery. This is an oil-based scrub used in a wet shower or tub. Move carefully, hold on to something while you use it, and rinse the surface thoroughly afterward — oil residue on a tub floor is genuinely dangerous.
Keep water out of the jar. This is the important one for a shower product. The formula has no water and no preservative system, so introducing water lets microbes grow. Scoop with dry hands before you get in, or use a dry spoon — do not dip wet fingers, and do not let the shower spray into an open jar.
For external use only. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
Body only. Not for the face, and not for intimate areas. Peppermint and eucalyptus oils sting badly on mucous membranes and thin skin.
Contains beeswax. Avoid if you have a known bee product allergy.
Not for broken or irritated skin, sunburn, freshly shaved skin, or over a rash. Essential oils on compromised skin burn.
Pregnancy or nursing: This blend contains peppermint, eucalyptus, and lavender essential oils. Consult your healthcare provider before use during pregnancy or while nursing.
Asthma and respiratory conditions: Eucalyptus in a steamy shower produces strong vapor. If you have asthma or a reactive airway, try it with the door open before committing to a full shower with it.
Patch test: New to this formula? Apply a small amount to the inner forearm and observe for 24 hours before first full use.
Keep out of reach of children.
Frequently Asked Questions ▾
Why can't children use it?
Peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils are both contraindicated for infants and young children. The menthol and 1,8-cineole they contain can trigger breathing problems in small airways. This is a well-established caution and not one we would soften — this is an adult product.
Will it leave my tub greasy?
Less than most oil scrubs, because this one contains an emulsifier that lets the oils rinse away with water rather than clinging. It is still an oil product in a wet space, though — rinse the surface down afterward, and mind your footing while you use it.
How cold does it actually feel?
Properly cold, and it builds for about a minute before settling. This is real peppermint essential oil, not a hydrosol or a flavoring, so the sensation is strong. If you want gentle cooling on your face instead, our Cool Sip mask uses peppermint hydrosol at a fraction of the intensity.
Can I use it before shaving?
Yes, and it is one of the better uses for it — exfoliating first lifts the hairs and helps prevent ingrowns. Do not use it after shaving. Essential oils on freshly shaved skin sting sharply.
How do I keep water out of an 8 oz jar in a shower?
Scoop what you need with dry hands before you get in, or keep a small dry spoon with it. Water in the jar is the one thing that will spoil this formula, since it has no preservative — nothing else about it is fragile.
Is this product vegan?
No. It contains beeswax. It is cruelty-free and never tested on animals, but it is not vegan.
What's the shelf life?
12 months from production, stored away from heat and direct sun. Keep water out of the jar. LOT and production date are printed on each container.
