A treatment balm that happens to taste good. Peptides, hyaluronate, and phospholipids under the flavour.

Ritual Lip Balm is part of Common Ritual — the line built for how something feels, not just what it does. Most lip balm is wax and oil with something pleasant on top. This one has a peptide, two humectants, and a phospholipid complex in it, sitting on a base of coconut, macadamia, jojoba, and castor oils. It wears like a good balm and it is doing more than a good balm usually does.

Three to choose from. Same base, same actives — the difference is the botanical and the flavour.

Formulated by Rachel, Licensed Advanced Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv) and Certified Skincare Coach — sensorial care, naturally flavoured.

⚠️ All three contain macadamia nut oil (tree nut) and beeswax. See allergen information below.

Choose Your Flavour

Rose Bloom — sweet passionfruit and rose. Rosa Damascena flower extract with a bright fruit flavour over it, so it reads softer and less old-fashioned than rose alone would.

A note on the name: early tubes are labelled Passiflora Bloom. We renamed this one to Rose Bloom because rose is the botanical in the formula — passionfruit is the flavour. Same balm, clearer name.

Honey Chamomile — Roman chamomile flower extract, with a warm honeyed flavour. The calmest of the three. (Flavoured as honey; the balm contains beeswax but no honey.)

Wild Pineapple & Lime — bright, sharp, tropical. The one people reach for in summer.

Each tube arrives with a tamper-evident seal. Packaging may vary — label layout is being updated, and early tubes carry the previous design. The balm inside is identical.

Key Actives

  • Tripeptide-29 — a collagen-signalling peptide, and an unusual thing to find in a lip balm. Lip skin is thin and shows volume loss early, which is exactly where a peptide earns its place.
  • Sodium Hyaluronate and Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate — two humectants working at different depths, drawing moisture into lip skin rather than only sealing the surface.
  • Phospholipids — the same class of lipids that make up your own cell membranes. They help the rest of the formula sit where it is meant to sit instead of wearing straight off.
  • Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil — rich in palmitoleic acid, unusually close to the skin's own sebum, which is why this balm sinks in rather than sitting as a slick.
  • Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil — the gloss and the staying power. Castor is what gives a balm its cushioned, glassy finish.
  • Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Extract — a yeast ferment, included for conditioning and barrier support.

Who It's For

Dry, chapped, or thinning lips. Anyone who reapplies balm all day and wonders why it never seems to fix anything — this one has actives in it, so the improvement carries between applications rather than resetting each time.

What to Expect

Comfortable, cushioned lips immediately, with a soft finish rather than a heavy gloss. The peptide and humectants work over weeks, so lips hold moisture better with consistent use instead of needing a reapplication every twenty minutes.

How to Use

  1. Apply to clean lips as often as you like.
  2. Best after your lip polish, when the surface is smooth and there is nothing in the way.
  3. Reapply before bed — overnight is when lips do most of their recovering.

Allergen Information & Safety ▾

⚠️ TREE NUT — ALL THREE FLAVOURS. Every variant contains Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil. Macadamia is a tree nut. Because lip products are inevitably ingested in small amounts, this is not a product to patch test and hope — if you have a tree nut allergy, please do not buy any of the three.

⚠️ BEESWAX — ALL THREE FLAVOURS. Avoid if you have a known bee product allergy.

Coconut: All three contain coconut oil. Coconut allergy is uncommon but real.

Chamomile, daisy family: Honey Chamomile contains Roman chamomile, which is in the Asteraceae family. If you react to ragweed, chrysanthemums, or daisies, choose one of the other two.

For external use only. Small amounts will be ingested in normal use, which is expected. Do not eat from the tube.

Do not use on broken skin, cold sores, or cracked and bleeding lips.

Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Keep out of reach of children.

Frequently Asked Questions ▾

My tube says Passiflora Bloom. Is this the same balm?
Yes. We renamed it for clarity. Passionfruit is the flavour and rose is the botanical extract in the formula — Passiflora is the Latin name for passionflower, which was doing a confusing job of naming a flavour. Rose Bloom, sweet passionfruit and rose, says what it is. Nothing about the balm has changed.

What's actually different between the three?
The botanical extract and the flavour. Everything else — the oil base, the peptide, the humectants, the phospholipids — is identical across all three. Pick the one you want to taste.

Is there honey in the Honey Chamomile?
No. Honey is the flavour; the chamomile is a real extract. All three do contain beeswax, so none of them are vegan regardless.

A peptide in a lip balm — does that do anything?
Lip skin is among the thinnest on the body, and it loses volume and definition earlier than the skin around it. Tripeptide-29 is a collagen-signalling peptide, and the hyaluronate and chondroitin hold moisture in tissue that has very little capacity to do that on its own. It is a slower, quieter effect than the immediate comfort of the balm — but it is why this costs more than a drugstore stick.

Are they vegan?
No. All three contain beeswax. They are cruelty-free and never tested on animals, but they are not vegan.

Is it glossy or matte?
In between. Castor oil gives it a soft cushioned shine rather than a wet gloss, and it is not tinted, so it wears well under or over lip colour.

What's the shelf life?
12 months from production, stored away from heat. If left somewhere warm the balm may soften or melt — it will re-set, though the surface may look uneven afterward. LOT and production date are printed on each tube.
