Ten minutes of cold on a hot day. Keep it in the fridge.
Cool Sip is a Ritual Script Summer Edition — a lightweight, rinse-off gel mask that cools skin down and hydrates it at the same time. The cooling comes from peppermint hydrosol, a steam-distilled floral water, not peppermint essential oil. That distinction is the whole formula: a hydrosol carries only a whisper of what makes peppermint feel cold, so you get the sensation without the sting that peppermint oil is known for.
Formulated by Rachel, Licensed Advanced Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv) and Certified Skincare Coach — barrier-conscious care, no added fragrance.
🌿 Scent note: The soft peppermint scent comes from the hydrosol itself. No fragrance has been added.
Key Actives
- Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Flower/Leaf Water — a steam-distilled hydrosol, not an essential oil. It delivers a clean cooling sensation at a tiny fraction of the intensity peppermint oil would, which is exactly why it was chosen.
- Sodium Hyaluronate, three molecular weights — high, medium, and low weight hyaluronate together, drawing moisture into the skin at different depths rather than sitting entirely on the surface.
- Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5) — pulls moisture into the skin and supports the look of a healthy barrier. Well studied for helping skin hold moisture and protecting against moisture loss.
- Allantoin — softens rough surface texture and calms the look of irritation.
- Calendula, Green Tea, and Goji — soothing and antioxidant botanicals that round off the cooling and keep the finish comfortable rather than sharp.
Scent Notes
Clean green peppermint — the smell of the leaf, not the candy. Present while the mask is on, gone once you rinse.
Who It's For
Hot days, sunburn-adjacent warmth, long flights, short nights, and any skin that feels tired and overheated. Suits normal, combination, and oily skin, and most sensitive skin tolerates it well — the hydrating base was built to buffer the cooling.
If your skin flushes easily or you have rosacea, Skin Sip™ Soothing Gel Mask is the better pick — same soothing base, same hydrating actives, without the peppermint. The two masks are siblings by design.
What to Expect
A cool wave within about thirty seconds, settling into comfortable hydration over the ten minutes it sits. Skin feels calmer, plumper, and less warm on rinsing. This is a comfort mask, not a treatment mask — it will not exfoliate or change your skin over time, and it is not trying to. Use it when you want to feel better right now.
How to Use
- Cleanse and pat skin dry.
- Apply an even layer over the face, staying clear of the eye area and lips.
- Leave on 10–15 minutes.
- Rinse with cool water, or lift away with a damp cloth.
- Follow with your serum and moisturizer.
- Use as often as you like — up to daily.
Store it in the refrigerator. This is not a nice-to-have suggestion — chilled is how this mask is meant to be used, and the difference is substantial.

Safety & Warnings ▾
For external use only. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
What the cooling should feel like: A mild cool tingle within the first thirty seconds, easing as the mask sits. That is the hydrosol doing its job. Stinging, burning, or heat is not part of it — rinse with cool water if you feel any of those.
Eye area: Keep it off the eye area. Peppermint vapor can make eyes water even without direct contact. If product enters the eyes, rinse thoroughly with cool water.
If your skin flushes easily: Peppermint is a trigger for some reactive and rosacea-prone skin, even in hydrosol form. Skin Sip™ Soothing Gel Mask is the same formula without it, and is the one we would point you to.
Patch test: New to this formula? Apply a small amount to the inner wrist or behind the ear and observe for 24 hours before first full use.
Not for compromised skin: Avoid on broken, sunburned, or actively irritated skin, or immediately after a professional exfoliation treatment.
Pregnancy or nursing: As with any skincare product, consult your healthcare provider if you have questions about use during pregnancy or while nursing.
Keep out of reach of children.
Frequently Asked Questions ▾
Is peppermint harsh on the face?
Peppermint essential oil can be. This is not that. Cool Sip uses peppermint hydrosol — the water left after steam distillation — which carries only a trace of the volatile compounds that make peppermint oil aggressive. It was chosen specifically so the mask could feel cold without being harsh.
How is this different from Skin Sip™?
Same base, same hydrating actives, different job. Skin Sip™ is the year-round soothing mask. Cool Sip is the summer one — it swaps in peppermint hydrosol for the cooling sensation Skin Sip™ deliberately leaves out. Plenty of people keep both.
Does it tingle?
Mildly, and pleasantly. It should never sting or burn.
Can I use it around my eyes?
No — keep it clear of the eye area. Peppermint can make eyes water even without direct contact.
How often can I use it?
As often as you like, up to daily. No acids, no retinoids, nothing to overdo.
Do I rinse it off or leave it on?
Rinse. Ten to fifteen minutes is plenty. It is not formulated as an overnight leave-on.
Does it really need to go in the fridge?
It works at room temperature, but chilled is the point. Refrigeration makes the cooling noticeably stronger and helps the formula keep.
Is this product vegan?
Yes. Cool Sip contains no animal-derived ingredients.
What's the shelf life?
Best used within 6–9 months of production, and refrigeration helps. LOT and production date are printed on each jar. As a Summer Edition, this one is made in small batches and is not always in stock.
