What Routine Lens Does

Your routine has more moving parts than you think.

Most skincare routines are built product by product — a cleanser here, a serum there — without a clear picture of how everything works together. Application order affects absorption. Some active ingredients conflict when layered. And gaps in a routine can quietly undermine even the best individual products.

Routine Lens gives you the full picture. Enter your current products, tell us about your skin, and receive a detailed analysis built around your actual routine — not a generic checklist.

Application order — Separate AM and PM routines, sequenced correctly for absorption and efficacy.
Ingredient conflicts — Active ingredients that may reduce each other's effectiveness or increase irritation risk when used together.
Product fit — How each product in your routine fits your skin type and barrier state, evaluated at the category level.
+
Routine gaps — Categories your routine is missing that would benefit your specific skin type — without pushing specific products.
What You Receive

A complete picture of your routine.

Every Routine Lens analysis covers four areas — tailored to the products you entered and the skin type you described.

Application Order
AM & PM sequences
Your products organized into correct morning and evening application order, with a short note on timing or technique for each step.
Ingredient Conflicts
Active interaction flags
Pairs of active ingredients in your routine that may conflict — rated as Caution or Separate — with a plain-language explanation of the concern.
Product Fit
Skin type compatibility
Each product evaluated for fit with your stated skin type and barrier state — flagged as a good fit, potential concern, or poor fit with context.
Routine Gaps
What your routine is missing
Skincare categories your current routine doesn't include that would benefit your skin type — explained without pushing specific products or ingredients.

Questions

Before you analyze.

Is Routine Lens really free?
Yes. Routine Lens is completely free to use. Enter your name and email to get started — no credit card, no subscription, no limit on how many routines you can analyze.
How many products can I enter?
There's no hard limit. Add your full routine — morning and evening — and the tool will organize everything. Most complete routines run between 4 and 12 products.
What does "ingredient conflict" mean in the analysis?
Certain over-the-counter active ingredients — AHAs, BHAs, retinoids, vitamin C, niacinamide, benzoyl peroxide, and others — can interact when layered or used in the same routine. Routine Lens flags pairs that may reduce each other's effectiveness or increase irritation risk, and explains what to do about it.
Can Routine Lens tell me which products to buy?
Routine Lens analyzes what you already have — it doesn't recommend specific products or ingredients. For a personalized product recommendation based on your skin history, Ritual Script's guidance services are the right next step.
How is this different from a Scripted Insight consultation?
Routine Lens is an automated educational tool that analyzes the products you enter. A Scripted Insight consultation is a fully personalized service — Rachel reviews your complete skin history, goals, and current routine and builds a custom protocol around your specific needs. They complement each other well: Routine Lens is a great starting point.
Is this medical advice?
No. Routine Lens is an educational tool for informational purposes only. Results do not constitute medical advice and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any skin condition. Consult a licensed dermatologist or healthcare provider for personalized medical guidance.
